Another analysis of my Survivor Dataset. This one uses Barbell charts (Also called DNA Charts) to show the differences in men vs women on finishing placement on the CBS game show Survivor across a variety of metrics.

  • Software used: Tableau

  • Findings:

    • When looking at age groups, men typically do better than women, except among contestants under 20 and contestants in their 40s. Women in their 60s have the lowest average placement across all groups.

    • When looking at season them, women dominate in seasons where the theme is literally “men versus women”, whereas men do much better on “old versus young” seasons, and seasons divided by job or character type.

    • When looking at job types, the biggest gaps are found between players who are in the motor industry and engineering (where men do way better than women). Women who are in the military or who are listed as homemakers have the biggest advantages over men.
